We are excited to announce we are recruiting for two (2) positions. If you apply to this, you may be considered for both or you can specify your preference in your cover letter:

1. One position will be focusing on administration of lease billing for the Maritime, Economic Development and Northwest Seaport Alliance.

2. One position will be focusing on reviewing and billing of all airport and non-airport lease concessions.

Provide complex Accounting support and to maintain the financial integrity of information posted to the General Ledger and/or other Accounting systems within Accounting & Financial Reporting (AFR).

This list is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY, and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Complete complex reconciliations that cross multiple systems using technical, analytical and system skills to ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
Comprehend and apply complex accounting rules, Port policies and procedures to assigned areas of responsibility.
Identify, research and analyze complex accounting irregularities that cross multiple systems.
Research and review transactions in areas of responsibility and provide necessary complex analyses. Review transactions from team members to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Provide senior level accounting and technical system support to customers to resolve issues, identify and research irregularities, anomalies and questioning unusual transactions.
Identify operational and accounting risks and work towards solutions with Senior Managers
Provide support to module leads to resolve system issues.
Provide testing during system upgrades and enhancements and assist with necessary training.

Must have a strong understanding of system modules. Comprehend and apply complex accounting standards and concepts. Understanding of PeopleSoft Financials.

Proficient in applying prescribed accounting and financial reporting standards issued by the Financial
Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) applicable to both the private and government sectors. Excellent technical skills necessary to troubleshoot system and assist during testing. Demonstrated effective judgment and decision-making skills. Demonstrated customer service skills. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse personalities, and customers.

Ability to effectively manage multiple billings, projects and meet multiple deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work with multiple complex accounting and financial reporting systems. Ability to work with multiple legal documents to determine accounting financial compliance.

Position Qualification:

Combination of education and experience demonstrating knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; and Six (6) years of progressive experience working in a general accounting within a specialized area of responsibility with complex financial software.

Master’s degree in Business or related field; Expertise with PeopleSoft systems including set-up, reporting and running complex queries; and/or Certified Public Accountant.
