Ensure compliance with North Carolina Revenue laws by employing professional auditing principles and practices in Examination of Taxpayers' accounting records and tax reports. Conduct advanced and specialized field auditing work in all tax schedules with emphasis on corporate income, franchise and sales and use tax of businesses located outside the state. Further emphasis is placed on fortune 500 corporations and other large-sized entities. Some overnight travel is required. There will be a 17% PSA added to the annual salary. Home address must be located within 40 miles of downtown Seattle, WA.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES / COMPETENCIES:
•Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal tax issues, auditing and accounting theories and principles; ability to perform complex, specialized audits.
•Three years of demonstrated experience performing independent examination and analysis of complex corporate returns, records, financial statements, and systems for accuracy, completeness and conformance to statutes and rules.
•Ability to justify and defend audit findings.
•Extensive technical expertise in working with large complex (fortune 500) taxpayers.
•Ability to communicate comprehensive information on matters of complex nature in a concise manner.
Advanced accounting degree or CPA certificate; knowledge of federal corporate income tax.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or related field with at least eighteen semester hours of accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience as a Field Auditor I or equivalent; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
